HOW TO REACH AULA MAGNA

  • By car
    A map at the end of this document will help you reach the venue.

    Some recommendations:
    - Coming from Brussels: E11, exit 8a, at the roundabout, go straight and follow the direction “Centre Urbain” (you will find a sign for Aula Magna)
    - Coming from Namur: E411, exit 9, follow directions to Nivelles (N25), exit Ottignies-LLN (you will find a sign for Aula Magna).
    (GPS: Boulevard Andre Oleffe – 1348 Louvain-la-Neuve)

    The closest parking to Aula Magna is Parking Grand Place in Louvain-la-Neuve. We recommend this parking since it has enough capacity for all participants.

    Please note that Aula Magna parking, indicated on the map, is only for organizers and sponsors who have a special access code.

  • By train
    Aula Magna is within 7 minutes walking distance from Louvain-la-Neuve train station.

  • By Bus
    There are also a number of buses from Brussels and other neighborhoods that serve Louvain-La-Neuve. The recommended stop for Aula Magna is Louvain-La-Neuve Champ Vallée (4 min walking distance) or Louvain-la-neuve Gare d’autobus (6 min walking distance).


SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

Two days are planned for this conference: Day 1, March 13, is a Genetics Retreat and Day 2, March 14 is the main conference day.

DAY 1, MARCH 13

The Genetics Retreat (for students, trainees, post-doctoral fellows and genetic counselors) will start at 9 am and end at 5 pm. It will take place in the Foyer du Lac from 9 am until 5 pm. The Foyer du Lac is located at the back of Aula Magna, facing the lake and the Aula Magna parking. To access that entrance, walk towards the back of Aula Magna and take the footbridge (passerelle de l’Aula - check second map at the end of this document). There is also an urban elevator.

Registration will be open from 8 am.
Coat racks will be provided and a coat attendant will be on site.

Oral presentations Day 1

People whose abstracts have been selected for an oral presentation are kindly asked to send us their presentation in advance at the following email address: leila.zahed@saintluc.uclouvain.be by Monday March 10.

DAY 2, MARCH 14

The Conference will start at 9 am and end at 6 pm, followed by a reception and party until 10 pm. All lectures will take place in the Aula Magna Main Theater.
The registration desk, situated at the main entrance hall of Aula Magna (Place Raymond Lemaire) will open at 8 am.

CLOAK ROOM MARCH 14

There is a large cloakroom at Aula Magna with a dedicated attendant available to leave your coats and other belongings. Please follow the signs for directions.

POSTERS MARCH 14

The poster area is in the main entrance hall, on the left and right side of the registration desk and will be accessible from 8 am onwards. One of the assigned volunteers, (look for people wearing a white T-shirt with a drawing of Genetics Squad
on the back) will assist you to find the assigned poster board to hang your poster. Sticky tape will be provided.
Please make sure to remove your poster at the end of the conference.

EXHIBITION AREA MARCH 14

The scientific exhibition area is in the main hall, on the left and right side.

LECTURE HALL MARCH 14

On Day 2, March 14, all lectures, as well as the round table discussion, will take place in the Aula Magna Theater. Please follow the signs.

COFFEE BREAKS, LUNCH and PARTY MARCH 14

These will all take place in the large exhibition hall
